Summer Children's Art Program Benefit Dinner

Arts Center raises nearly $1500 for the Summer Children's Art Program

The Cedar Key Arts Center was filled with food, friends, fun and fine art last Wednesday night to help raise month for children's art programs in Cedar Key. Sixty guests enjoyed a three-course gourmet meal topped off with Peter Stefani's Chocolate Caramel Bread Pudding with a Chipotle Tequila Sabayon served with gusto by the Island Room Staff. Thanks to the generosity of local artists many attendees when home with a special work of art as well - including jewelry, ceramics, cards, paintings, gift certificates and more.

The summer art programs include a week-long elementary program, two Art Camps and a teen program on Tuesday and Thursday evenings in July. With the art program at the Cedar Key School coming to an end this year, the Arts Center will be reviewing existing programs with the hope of expanding educational opportunities for Cedar Key's children in the future.

3rd Annual Paint Out:  Over fifty participants enjoyed bidding on the thirteen pieces of art created by our talented local artists. Just over $3000 was raised. Thanks to everyone for making this such a fun and successful event. And congratulations to Cedar Keyhole Artist, Bob Goodlett, who won the People’s Choice Award.
